I’ve spent more than two decades rethinking how education can work. I’m encouraged that more families have options – and that more educators feel empowered to build them.

But having been through the blender building a microschool, I think we need to ask harder questions about what makes it sustainable. The stakes are personal for every child and family we serve. Let’s bring the same creativity to making these models last that we bring to getting them started.
